May Your Coffee Be Stronger Than Your Toddler

For all you tired moms, I know you can relate to the importance of a cup (or a few) cups of coffee in the morning. I know I do!

Today my toddler was stronger than coffee.

6:00 AM – Coffee poured

6:30 AM – dressed and ready…the day begins (reheat coffee first time in microwave)

7:30 AM After breakfast is finally done and cleaned, I realized that my cup is half filled with cold coffee (second time in microwave.)

7:45 AM – Then I hear it…” uh oh”, these words I dread…. come to see my daughter wanted to “help” fill the cat’s food dish. Only now there is more food on the floor than in his dish. (coffee back in microwave)

8:00 AM-In the process of cleaning up that cat food, I get distracted by demands to read two Dr. Seuss book (in lieu of his birthday)…she knows my soft spots.

8:05 AM – (reheat coffee four the fourth time) I finally get back on track of my day and call the internet, because they seem to bill me wrong every month, but this allows me to finally finish my cup of coffee.

It may have taken four trips to the microwave and two hours, but that coffee was worth every sip. #momlife.

  1. That’s one of my favorite blog post titles — ever! (I’m a sucker for great titles. I rarely write them.)

I have a 7-year-old and a 17-month-old so I understand what you described here. May *tomorrow’s* coffee be stronger than your toddler!
